ELSIGHT HALO IS NOW BLUE LIST CERTIFIED

LTE/5G: An Added Layer for Robust Mission-Critical Connectivity for HLS/Public Safety and First Responder Operations

Mission-Critical Connectivity. Spectrum Superiority. Field Proven Results.

First responders, law enforcement, HLS and other public safety agencies work more efficiently and effectively when using UAVs and UGVs (unmanned aerial and ground vehicles) empowered by BVLOS (beyond visual line-of-sight) in their life saving work. BVLOS drones provide fast and extended visual intelligence of a situation, deliver emergency supplies, and protect responders from unnecessary risk by enabling remote operations. Elsight’s Halo multi-link BVLOS communications platform ensures drones stay continuously connected to the Control & Command (C2) Center, no matter the mission or environment. Having logged hundreds of thousands of mission hours, Halo is the most field-proven BVLOS communications solution consistently delivering successful outcomes.

What Sets Halo Apart?

Typically, UAVs rely on a single cellular connection, leaving them vulnerable to failures and dropped links. Other approaches include using public safety frequencies which are often disrupted by jammers and only offer point-to-point visibility. Furthermore, failover solutions only switch networks after a breakdown, creating dangerous gaps. Halo takes a different approach.

Halo aggregates all available communication links, including LTE/5G, SATCOM, and P2P/MANET into a single bonded data pipeline. This capability ensures uninterrupted connectivity for mobile first responder units and their unmanned platforms by removing reliance on any one network, enhancing operational effectiveness in difficult environments and terrains.

Halo uses intelligent bonding technology that splits data into AES-256-CBC encrypted packets and transmits them simultaneously across all available networks. These packets are reassembled at the destination through secure VPN tunneling, maintaining both security and redundancy. The system automatically routes traffic based on real-time link performance and provides seamless transitions between networks without drops by using a logical connectivity layer where prioritizing specific data streams is made possible.

In certain environments where communication paths are often compromised, Halo’s BVLOS multilink communication platform bonds all available communication links into a secure encrypted pipe delivering continuous connectivity. The comprehensive set of communication networks includes:

Public cellular networks – Public LTE/5G infrastructure with multiple carriers and bands for extended BVLOS range and rapid deployment capabilities.

Private 5G networks– e.g., dedicated public safety communications infrastructure.

Radio systems– MESH and P2P SDR integration for resilient tactical communications.

Satellite communications– LEO/GEO SAT integration (e.g. Viasat, Iridium, Starlink)

Boxed Halo: A rugged, portable enclosure that delivers instant, stand-alone communications in any environment.

The Boxed Halo packs Elsight’s connectivity platform into a rugged, self-contained enclosure, no integration required. Just power it up, and you’ve got an instant, secure communications hub that bonds cellular, satellite, and RF links for uninterrupted coverage. From forward operating bases to emergency command posts, Boxed Halo delivers connectivity wherever it’s needed most.

For example, in sites of infrastructure inspection, (such as electric grids, railways) operators use drones for routine inspection of power lines, wind turbines, bridges, and towers. These sites are often in remote or rural locations with limited single-carrier coverage. The Boxed Halo ensures constant data relay by intelligently switching/bonding multiple carriers for uninterrupted live inspection feeds.

Redundant, Spectrum-Superior Connectivity

From crowded city centers to remote mountain terrains, Halo’s BVLOS communication platform ensures drones stay connected to the Ground Control Station (GCS) through spectrum-superior technology. Halo bonds up to four LTE/5G carriers integrated with RF and SATCOM links, using real-time, packet-level traffic optimization to eliminate single points of communication failure.

The system automatically prioritizes the traffic to the healthiest networks, providing connection confidence regardless of difficult environments. Halo’s continuous monitoring and predictive analytics detect and address weak links before performance is impacted. Seamless handoffs instantly reroute traffic to the most reliable channels, ensuring uninterrupted BVLOS operations.

Halo’s configurable traffic prioritization and Quality of Service (QoS) policies ensure real-time data, such as video streams or control commands, always take precedence. QoS rules can be applied per link to shape and direct traffic, maintaining optimal performance across all channels.

Let's talk about Halo supporting DFR applications

Emergency vehicles and personnel are on a wet, rural road at sunset, while several drones fly overhead, possibly assisting in a rescue or disaster response operation. Securing Sensitive Data and Operations

Halo is built with military-grade security, meeting the strictest government and law enforcement requirements. Live video, telemetry, and sensor data are split into AES-256-CBC encrypted packets and distributed across multiple channels to the Allsight management platform.

Available in both cloud and on-premises deployments, Allsight safely decrypts and reassembles the data, providing a layered security framework that protects sensitive information and ensures mission integrity across all channels.
